as part of etain’s modelling portfolio and in addition to the studio setup in the previous post, we made use of the rare sun in my garden and got in some lifestyle shots. as a way of creating diversity and range, i also edited the images using different styles to create softness or drama. i love how etain can pull off so many looks and by the end of the shoot we were utterly drained. awaiting for another creative outburst soon bbz!
this girl (@etainleung) is making a comeback on the blog. having been signed recently (thaaaats ma girl!) she wanted to take a variety of photos as part of her portfolio. it was a simple studio set up using a black and white backdrop and we also used a few flowers as props. so proud of ma bestie and how confidently she slays in front of the camera. much love!

‘yooooo’ is how this guy right here starts all his convos, and all his posts on his blog lifefromdust.com (check it out now!). having attended his 22nd bday a few years back whilst not really knowing him, we followed each other on instagram, before zunen hollered at me a few years later wanting to do a collab. say whaaaat!!
as creatives, zunen reached out to tell my story on his blog on how i keep my passion for creating alive, whilst i had the joy of photographing him around covent garden. we grabbed pub grub for lunch and then moved around for a chill, urban shoot. not gonna lie, i was put out of my comfort zone having to shoot in the heart of london and its buzz. surely i’m not the only one who feels weird when people stare at me shoot, or otherwise feel like i might get robbed whilst distracted shooting. but hey ho, at least i didn’t have to pose in the middle of london lol.
tbh, i didn’t know what to expect before this shoot. firstly, i had never shot with a male model (i was searching for male poses on pinterest frantically the night before). secondly, i never saw covent garden as much of a grand shoot location. but man was i glad the sun came out (hello beautiful flare), and all fell into place. i guess the madness of this shoot was also owed to zunen who was dressed for this location – his green jacket and green sneakers literally match the market’s colour. see for yourself:
i told you so. oh wait i turned two of them into black and white.
we then moved to a cafe called le pain quotidien for a cappuccino and chai tea. it is sweetly located in covent garden and has a second floor so you can overlook the market.
it was here that stories and testimonies came to life, and here that we exchanged encouragements to keep creating and refining our crafts. if there is one thing that zunen has reminded me, it is that we are created to create. amen brother.
once anya busted out her white jacket and apple purse, i immediately saw another vision. so much so i edited this set of wheat field photos with a different vibe: muted colours and earthy tones yesssss.
i originally envisioned clear blue skies for a vibrant contrast, but i guess the clouds added a dramatic look to these photos instead. tell me these almost look like a modern zara campaign.
after saying goodbye to the wheat fields, anya and i headed towards the gardens for a different look and a new outfit.
we played amongst the spring leaves and blooms and got some precious detail shots. also check out that bokeh – my insides are screaming.
and to top it off, my fave shot from the gardens:
anya (@anyamegan) is a dancer, a giggler, and a special gal i met last year when i went to south korea. as creatives, we instantly clicked and framed a mood board around beautiful earthy tones, dance, and freedom.
we made richmond park our location, and though the gloomy british weather did not permit blue skies, we championed through it and made the most of it.
finding this patch of golden wheat field was a trek and a half. we made the most of our time and shot along the way to finding this place, but when we got here i was so excited to make our vision come alive. i remember thinking ‘man, that walk was definitely worth it’.
and can i just say, anya is literally gifted with the most perfect posture which made her such a joy to photograph.
