as well as the studio shoot from my previous post, reg (and i) did a lot of running around the garden, chasing bubbles to get the following photos. enjoy!
i was overjoyed that skye and reg paid a visit to my house a few weeks back for a cheeky photoshoot which has been long overdue. see here and here for the photoshoot we did when reg was still a teeny one!
i got skye to bring along the cheeky man himself and his favourite toy, i supplied the bubbles, cornflakes and ukulele, and reg brought the fun and cuteness overload. we had a blast the entire afternoon and i’m so pleased with all the pictures we got.
reg is such a joy to photograph. he is always smiling, he listens when i tell him to sit on a box and eat his cornflakes with his toy dog in front of him, and always looks into the darn camera. and did i mention he is literally the most handsome baby ever?
skye also jumped in for a few photos holding the guitar whilst i handed the ukulele to reg. however halfway through, reg insisted on swapping for the bigger guitar with a kiss.
skye and i had also planned to shoot some photos for her to paint that afternoon (skye is a v talented artist btw). it involved lemons and so reg, being reg, came back to steal the show by demonstrating how he could eat a lemon cutely.
it’s not christmas until you parade through stalls luring you in to win a giant minion toy whilst your nose is occupied with the smell of burnt candy floss and sweet mulled wine. my sister and i went on our first double date ever to winter wonderland in hyde park london and we had a blast.
loksze reached a milestone that day – his first ever churros. lathered in melted chocolate and dusted with icing sugar. it probably only took us 5 minutes to rinse the entire paper cone.
^ finger lickin good.
there were times when i wondered whether my sister wanted me to be at such a romantic place with her to take cute pictures of her and dan, or whether she actually wanted me there. just kidding. she always wants me there.
winter wonderland was the perfect place for me to practice shooting in low light conditions and experiment with different coloured lights. post processing these photos was also a challenge although it has let me go beyond my go-to natural, light tones when editing. teal, oranges and reds with grain was my running theme in this set of photos.
paying £5 for the simplest burger is also part of the whole winter wonderland experience. overpriced food is what winter wonderland really is.
hey-ho, and some £6 hotdogs to top the night. surely a sausage does not cost that much.
ok i’m out before i become a grinch.
merry christmas and happy new year friends.
did you think that this small selection were the only photos i would post of reggie? pfttt think again. let’s jump into a few details from our photoshoot.
number one. this was a totally unintended photoshoot. i would always bring my camera out when i met skye and reggie cos they were simply too beautiful not to take pictures of. after a walk about in kingston we decided to go over to the riverside to snack on a few things we picked up but instead, ditched the chips and snapped away.
number two. reggie is a joy to photograph. he is full of his own funny personality and never stops smiling! he is literally the dream baby to photoshoot, and he is sure adding a lot of glow to my portfolio. we didn’t even have to bribe him to get him to stare into the camera and smile.
number three. the photoshoot was full of fun. i used my 45mm f1.8 lens so had to stand a bit further back for my shots. i let reg and skye do their own thing (which they were best at), snapped at all the right moments, and may have got a few too many pictures. but there’s never too many pictures of reg.
number four. i’ve yet to shoot his first year birthday photos. i got the news that he can walk now! – so i’m going to have a lot of fun chasing him around with my camera. man, i can’t wait to shoot all of this kid’s milestones. thanks for being so co-operative by the way, reg.
oh my dear reginald (reggie).
you are so beautiful and so loved. i knew your mumma back in year 7. we were in the same form and were in the same science and maths classes. she has a crazy amazing talent in art and paints beautiful things. one time i went over to her house after school to play with her dog roxy – we had a blast.
i found out that you were coming into existence whilst i was in korea. little did i know that you would be one of the smiliest human beings i’ve ever met and have such a cheeky personality.
you are so loved by the people around you. never forget that. but there’s me and azmin especially. you’ve been the glue thats reunited the three of us girls to be honest. since you’ve been born, we’ve made it a thing to find time and meet up whenever me and azmin were back from uni. and every time we met, you had grown again. (we must meet up more often.)
i’ve been so excited to take some adorable pictures of you so that everyone can remember what a chubby baby you were. but also as a gift to skye, so she could look back and know that she’s been such an awesome mumma, and be proud of herself for doing such a good job raising a human being.
we took these photos in kingston after hanging out in costa and some cuddles. it’s where me and your mumma grew up. you’re getting cuter by the day and developing your own personality. you’re growing some curls, your legs are getting stronger, and you’ve got little blonde eyebrows now. i hope you never grow out of your cuteness.
