Botanical, modern and natural Korean extended family photos with Grandparents, a toddler and colourful balloons in the summer at Fulham Palace, London// The Park Family

August 1, 2019

this summer, i had the privilege of meeting + hanging out with the parks – a korean family who flew in from new york, korea and japan! they were all in london for a rare family reunion, (they call themselves a ‘global family’!) and to celebrate the 60th birthday of little sohee’s grandmother with a memorable trip.

i don’t think i will ever forget about this shoot; it is the largest extended family session i’ve had so far! altogether there was sohee, who had just turned one, her parents, grandparents, and her uncle + auntie.

the park family were all equally as stylish + i LOVED their enthusiasm for their session. prior to arriving in london, they ordered some balloons off amazon to their airbnb in chelsea, where they then blew them up, and brought along their helium tank for refills at the park! i literally swooned when i first saw them from afar with all their powder pink confetti balloons coupled with the big 60 helium balloons.

our morning together couldn’t have been more perfect at the park. there was a botanical walled garden, an apple tree arch, a greenhouse, and even a vegetable cart! sohee’s auntie said that the park was like a real life alice in wonderland and i couldn’t agree more. after our shoot, the park family treated me to an iced coffee to cool off + i had the honour of getting to know these amazing people. it was amazing to discover that sohee’s dad actually lived local to me when he was younger!

dearest park family, i’m so thankful we got to meet in this way and for the time we got to hang out together, drink coffee, and for me to even learn a few korean words! there is so much joy between you guys + i love you all!
